Working remote, distributed, and async

I've always wanted spacetime independence.

I prefer not tying myself to a place – home, office, city, or otherwise. I also like having control over my time.

Most jobs do not guarantee that: "Flexible hours" end up in bed-to-bed availability, and WFH ends up in 24 different "syncs".

So, I wanted a workplace that was three things:

  1. Remote - Allows me to work from anywhere (in the world). Pays me enough to stay anywhere in the world.

  2. Distributed (No HQ) – Everybody works remotely and is intentional with communication (my biggest pet peeve).

  3. Asynchronous - No TAT expectations or quick-calls in a random timezone. People work in their own time.

Finally, I've found a role that fits all my needs. It took 4 months, a lot of cold emails, even more waiting, and good storytelling to get it.

I plan on writing two posts about it:

See ya next time!
