Language through mushrooms
When a friend did magic mushrooms, he tripped over language first. He giggled uncontrollably, "It's pointless, I don't know how to put into words how I feel". Then he saw shapes in the clouds and wept without sadness.
I was reminded of this while signing up for sublime.app. One of their onboarding cards said – "trying to communicate through talking feels like trying to put the ocean through a straw." – Björk
Quite apt. Most moments I have cherish, can never be truly share with anyone. Except that odd friend who happened to be there. It's not something you both talk about because you don't know if it was really there. There's always a chance that you just might be little bitches.
I don't know if Björk meant to say how narrow languages are to be able to capture feelings or that languages are just not the right medium to communicate them.
